Market Samurai – Noble Samurai Product Review October 1st, 2009

Interested in Internet Marketing but hate the time investment it takes to get where you want to go? Market Samurai is your answer. I’ve had the pleasure of being a Beta tester of the Market Samurai software which has recently been released to the general public. This tool was a perfect addition to my tool kit because I am moving my business from a service based business in a specific geographical area to a wider audience on the Internet. First, let me say that I am blown away by the features of the Market Samurai software. It saves me ages of time on efforts I’ve been working on for a while–and with my limited time–this is a winner.
The product offers you a variety of ways to search and focuses on the following topics:
* Keyword Research
* SEO Competition
* Find Content
* Promotion
* Publish Content
* Monetization
* Ad Words
During my 40 day trial I was able to use the first four components. I was amazed at how easy this product made my tasks. I’ve heard other Beta testers say that, “Market Samurai is Keyword Research on steroids.” I agree because it reduces your manual labor AND is a big time saver. Other services such as Word Tracker and other paid products cannot hold a candle up to this puppy. The good news for most everyone is that Market Samurai can be used on both PCs and Macs. (Uses Adobe Air platform.) So, if you are looking at keywords, Market Samurai estimates traffic based on your keyword, evaluates competition for those words, and calculates the online commercial intent of a keyword–known as OCI. Another nice feature is that everything is contained in one panel instead of working between several sites or using other software to accomplish your goals. There is a bit of a learning curve to Market Samurai but there are tutorial videos help and once you get the hang of it–you’ll be pleased.
If you are into online sales, you can research and find what keyword is worth for unpaid listings and Pay Per Click (PPC). In addition, you can select to see how much competition there is for each word and what the dollar value might be if you get ranked for the word…and more. One of the features I really liked was being able to see the search trends. This helps determine if the search term is seasonal–which one of my terms was. What that means is that it would not have consistent growth or traffic for the niche to market due to low searches except for during a very seasonal (one month) peak. The keyword advantage is that it helps you target and fine tune those niches you are considering. I already have an authority site but since I want to expand my audience I think this is the tool to do it with. The only glitch is that some of the results that come back are not very relevant. The program gathers related terms and also those that you might consider and returns them all at once. Since the product is still in Beta I believe they may eventually fine-tune this issue. At the moment, in the Market Samurai panel you can highlight the keywords you don’t want and hit the X to delete those terms. The issue that concerned some of the testers is that it is time consuming. So, Word Tracker or Google Ad Words are still being used by some to get down into the long tails and specifics.
One of the other features I liked was the SEO Competition. You can see if competitors are using the terms in their titles, what their page rank is, and if they are listed in the directories and a whole lot more. This is critical in determining if you might be able to break into the keyword niche you picked. Finding Content around the web is another feature that becomes a snap with this tool. You can select from news sources, blogs, and many other choices. The final panel in the Beta version is for Promotion. You can find articles across the web and find out if they provide back links or not while also finding relevant forums and other resources to help promote your site. Market Samurai is still under development and the additional panels (Publish Content, Monetization, and Ad Words) will be available in the near future.
I see Market Samurai as a valuable tool not just to those involved in Internet Marketing but also for those people just getting going with their business or service websites outside of niche marketing. Knowing just what people are searching on is valuable information indeed. I did the research for one of my new clients and Market Samurai revealed that what she thought were good words for her business were actually useless. It saved me hours of time which frees me up for creating content and other efforts instead. Finally, I’d suggest you snap this product quickly. The product just became available in September of 2008.
